The Big O: A Skintroduction

It started out as just an conversation among friends. Elisha Cuthbert or Scarlett Johansson? Gisele Bundchen or Marisa Miller? The "To-Do" list first circulated through the guys; who's hot, who's too old, who's a "Classic Beauty" and doable for all time, who's not old enough yet (or "The Untouchables"), and of course who's name will never come close to gracing the list. I have a basic rule- If they don't make you drool, they don't make the list.

All the guys have their perspectives but the saving grace is the friend and ally at the House of Skin, AKA, MrSkin.com, working with the greatest Skin-savant of all time.

Eventually I was put on the spot and asked to make my own list. At first I laughed, but with some gentle prodding, I finally came around. How could I not? All day, every day, reading, working with and chatting about the life of skin- reviews, blogs, pictures and videos- the constant exposure has its influence after a while. I realized that I have an opinion about these chicks too, why not voice it? I'm not about to let the boys have all the fun. My grandfather called me the Big O when I was a kid without realizing what it meant much to my parents embarrassment, but now it’s time to use the nickname for something I'm sure he never would have intended it for.

In the words of Miss Katy Perry: "I kissed a girl and I liked it". My first was back in High School with my best friend and foxy redhead, and I'll do it any chance I get. Femininity is a hot commodity these days, we've taken the term Sex Sells and stretched it as far as we can. Even Disney is cashing in on tartlets like Miley Cyrus and Vanessa Hudgens whose angelic background couldn't survive the spotlight. Next thing you know- we've got the next set of Olson twins complete with an older male following just waiting for them to turn 18.

I pondered my new charge as a social experiment- what are these ladies like? Obviously living in Chicago doesn't leave me too much hands-on experience as Chi-town is no L.A. (thank God), but what would life be like if you're hot and famous and sought after by so many people? I can't help but get sucked in by all the press: This just in, Breaking news out of Malibu: CNN is covering Britney Spears via helicopter being taken to a psych ward. What bra less frock is she sporting and is she still toting a pregnancy test and a random Arab around with her spouting that awful cockney British accent?

In the days of flashing snatch and nip slips, it leaves me to wonder what could possibly be occupying the mind of the celebrity. Is it normal to want to dance on a bar every time I go out like Paris? THIS day and age- any publicity is considered good publicity and all the starlets know it. Every day is another chance to for the average joe to jump onto their computer and see who did what in a drunken stupor the previous night. We live in a time where if someone made a spectacle of themselves, a good portion of the public knows about it before they have had their morning Bloody Mary. And then there's the old game of telephone. If a celebrity slips on her way out of club, by the next day TMZ is leading with the story that she's a drunken alcoholic on her way to rehab. While that's not too far off considering how many Promises alumni there are cruising through Hollywood, it's a bursted bubble by 3 o'clock when we find out it's not true.

This leaves us with the question that everyone wants to know but only the "insider" really has the answer to, what are they doing inside those restaurants and clubs every night? We hear tales of everything from cat fights to holding up the bathroom for hours doing God knows what, and even though it's all hearsay, we consume this information with all the voracity of Victoria Silvstets' love of a Yacht dock. And what else should we do but let our imaginations run wild, coming up with the most ridiculous scenarios that could only happen to someone famous and end up in the press. My mind operates the same way thinking “what will they do next?” Some girls know exactly how to work it, showing just enough skin to keep people guessing while others fly WAY over the line leaving nothing to the imagination. But I appreciate them either way because they will forever keep my interest peaked. I know I can't help but want to know about them and their lives as celebutard extrordinares...

And with that, I'm starting a blog about the good and the bad, the hot and the not so much, the ultimate question being: Who belongs on the ultimate To Do List...
