Big Daddy (1999)

In the suprisingly sad comedy Big Daddy (1998) Adam Sandler is Sonny Koufax, a law-school graduate with a nice apartment and a real shot at success. But all this thirty-two-year-old wants to do is the bare minimum. It's hard work doing nothing all day, you see, living off of some old lawsuit winnings and fiddling around like an overgrown kid. Working one day a week at a tollbooth, he's somewho managed to land Kristy Swanson, but that's not going to last. When his ladyfriend reaches her wit’s end and leaves him for an old sugar daddy, Adam comes up with a plan to prove to her that he's a real man. When five year old Julian (Cole and Dylan Sprouse) shows up at his door with a note that he's his China living roomie's (Jon Stewart) son, Sonny decides he'll raise the kid to show he could be a real dad, someday. There's only one problem: Kristy goes and gets with another man, leaving Adam caring for a kid he doesn't know what to do with. He tries to have the boy sent back to his mother, but she's shuffled off this mortal coil. Turmoil! So with no other options, Adam decides to take care of the kid himself. But Sonny's a mess with no clue how to raise a kid. Enter all sorts of hijinks, from letting the kid call himself Frankenstein and pee all over public buildings, to tripping rollerbladers with sticks as a bonding activity. Along the way, Sonny wil somehow switch from Kristy Swanson to Joey Lauren Adams, which is absurd for such an average looking neer do well. We get a look at Kristy's incredible cans in a red bra as she gets dressed and yells at Sonny for being such a slacker, but the hottest scene in the movie belongs to Leslie Mann. She's a Hooters girl turned foot doctor, who is all sorts of nippy at the grocery store as she scolds Sonny for dating her sister. Those hooters are calendar worthy, so it's a bit dissapointing we didn't get any unclothed Mann mams. Still, when it comes to those Big Daddy bigums, Daddy likey!
