Besser als Schule (2004)

In case there’s any question about Germany’s ability to crank out formulaic teen comedies as effectively as Hollywood, Besser als Schule (2004) makes an airtight case. The breezy boy-meets-girl romance also gets quite a bit sexier than the PG-13 fare we’re used to seeing on this side of the Atlantic. The film’s ensemble cast of pop stars and nubile young actresses keeps things lively even when the plot grows staid and predictable--there’s simply no denying the allure of chesty Loredana Rao’s sex scene or Melanie Wichterich’s nude saunter around the sauna. Though comparatively modest, lovely Camilla Renschke also dazzles in a bathing suit-clad supporting turn.
