Back in 1975 network TV was a very different beast than it is today. Back then, all you needed was a little music, some softshoe and the odd comedy sketch, and audiences would make your show a must-see destination. So it was that Roots star Ben Vereen hosted this four-week summer musical variety series featuring comedy sketches, musical numbers and a whole lotta dancing, baby. Guests featured Lola Falana, Liz Torres, Avery Schreiber, Arte Johnson andLee Lund, all accompanied by rockin’ Jack Elliott and Allyn Ferguson Orchestra.
