Backdraft (1991)

Ron Howard's action filled fireman thriller Backdraft (1991) set the box office aflame when it became the 14th highest grossing film of 1991, beating out stuff like Hook (1991) and Beauty and the Beast (1991). Lauded for its special effects, which garnered the flick a few Oscar nominations, the drama goes down in Chicago, where Bull McCaffrey (Kurt Russell) runs Engine 17 alongside his hotshot kid brother, Brian (William Baldwin). Both brothers know all about the dangers of the gig, since their dad died in a fire when they were young, but that doesn't keep Brian from making some risky moves in his desire to quickly put out the fire. Chicago's under siege from a mysterious arsonist who is smart enough to craft his fires so they'll create deadly backdrafts that burn the people in the building, but don't spread like normal fires. Fire Inspector Shadow Rimgale (Robert De Niro) sends Bull to have a chat with legendary arsonist Ronald Bartel (Donald Sutherland), which leads him to suspect a firefighter might be doing the burning. And with Alderman Marty Swayzak (J.T. Walsh) all set to slash the firefighting budget, it's likely that he'll be the next target. Which one of our pole sliding, Dalmatian petting, calendar posing, hose squirting squad members are setting the fires? You won't care when you realize how hot their ladies are! Rebecca De Mornay is Helen, Bull's absurdly hot ex-wife who had to leave him due to his unhealthy obsession with the fireman life. What a fool. We'd work for 24 hours if it meant two days getting her off! But the one really scorching the screen in this one is Jennifer Jason Leigh, who plays a political aid getting laid by Brian. Jennifer brings out her jugs while in bed with Brian and fellas, those titties are fire! Engine or ladder company, every fireman would volunteer to keep her company all night after watching Backdraft!
