During the ’80s, American boob tubes beamed with the sister team Audrey Landers and Judy Landers who sported hardly any clothing — and even less lines of dialogue. It’s hard to imagine (make that, it’s hard when you imagine) just how famous Audrey became for playing the perennial bubbly blonde. After appearing on daytime soaps (The Secret Storm, Search for Tomorrow and Somerset), the prime hottie moved to primetime with guest spots on scores of Top 10 TV shows (including Happy Days, Charlie’s Angels, Fantasy Island, Police Woman, etc.) as well as lesser known series (Lucky Chances, Highcliffe Manor, and Burn Notice). The arousing ingénue hit it big when she landed the role of naughty nymph Afton Cooper on the CBS hit Dallas (1981-84, 1989). Never one to rest on her laurels, Audrey moved on to movies. After squeezing into tights and leg-warmers for the film version of A Chorus Line (1985), the pretty performer showed off her comic timing and bra-clad cleavage in the worker romp Underground Aces (1988). Ms. Landers then revealed her range (among other things) in the fantasy Ghost Writer (1989). During a skinny-dipping scene, we get to glance at a splash of Audrey’s ass. Alas, the curvaceous cutie covered her cans with her hands. Next came the rom-com California Casanova (1991) wherein the gorgeous gal grinds her silken panties into Tyrone Power Jr.’s crotch. More recently, Ms. Landers could be seen in the crime flick 5th Borough (2020) alongside Tara Reid. And so the torch has been passed.
