Art Heist (2004)

A divorced woman encounters complications at every turn, especially when her ex-husband maintains a protective affection toward her. Although established as an international expert on Renaissance masterpieces, the investigative heroine of Art Heist (2004) cannot quite step out of the shadow of her castoff mate, who is a New York City cop. The comely painting historian travels all the way to her former hometown in Spain, summoned to help trace the disappearance of a priceless El Greco canvas. She has help in that endeavor, from a swarthy and suave native of the region to whom she was at one time engaged. Her buffer from the Manhattan policeman of her past would seem to be complete, except that he shows up just in time to help save her from being framed for stealing the El Greco. True love never dies, and neither does the human penchant for perfidy.
