Two Mr. Skin Hall-of-Fame Classics Slated for the Remake Treatment. But Will they Be as Nudity-packed as the Originals?

Yesterday was a banner day for movie-remake news, as power studio MGM announced that a musical version of the Nicolas Cage teen sex comedy Valley Girl is in the works, and Hyde Park Entertainment secured rights to an update of the classic Blake Edwards comedy 10, which featured Bo Derek's first-ever nude scenes.

Both studios have mixed track records when it comes to nudity. MGM has recently been responsible for the skinless Bond offerings Die Another Day and Casino Royale, as well as family fare like Nanny McPhee, Sleepover, and Yours, Mine & Ours. But just to throw a wrench in Mr. Skin's highly scientific reasoning, the house that Louis B. built has also plumped up tools with Basic Instinct 2 and Killing Me Softly.

Hyde Park Entertainment fares a bit better in the nudity department (despite having also brought the world a film starring Dakota Fanning and a horse), as the studio was responsible for Shopgirl, Asylum, and Original Sin.

Unfortunately both studios also have a history remaking skinful cinema—and taking out all of the skin! MGM's Amityville Horror wasn't the Am-titty-ville the original was thanks to Margot Kidder's udders. And Hyde Park took on Walking Tall but wasn't willing to make men tall where it counts by including the T&A of the 1973 version.

The ogling outlook doesn't look too promising in light of these facts, but should either 10 or Valley Girl contain an actress's 2 or valley, Mr. Skin will bring you the full skinny.

Also slated for updates are the Chuck Bronson vigilante flick Death Wish—also brought to you by MGM and to reportedly star and be directed by Sylvester Stallone—and the Hitchcock-esque Brian De Palma thriller Dressed To Kill. MGM and Hyde Park will team up on the latter and bring it direct to video—and DTV usually spells T&A!
