The rock-n-roll madman known and feared worldwide as GG Allin was born Jesus Christ Allin -- for real -- to a Vermont family that lived in an actual log cabin on this date in 1956.

As chronicled in the documentary Hated, this one-of-a-kind talent literally tore audiences apart. While publicly performing his incendiary odes to evil, GG Allin would punch people out, empty his kidneys and bowels on stage, lacerate his skin, vomit, consume the body wastes of others, and assault all comers with any blunt object within his grasp.

Alas, the light that burns brightest also flames out fastest, and on June 29, 1993, GG Allin died of an accidental heroin overdose in New York City, failing to make good on his long-standing promise to commit suicide on-stage on Halloween.
