Araponga

Senator Petrônio Paranhos is dead! Having romanced a young woman by the name of Arlete (Carla Marins), who only wanted the Senator’s sperm for in vitro fertilization, the sudden motel room death of the senator brings about an investigation. That’s where Araponga, a former soldier now federal agent, comes in, but dear Araponga (Tarcisio Meira) isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer, and as a result he’s a cause for concern in the halls of power. A Brazilian adventure comedy, the title character is a moronic spy (think Get Smart) who suddenly finds himself involved in the international drug trade. So why is this show noteworthy? Well, it isn’t really, but it had Dira Paes in it. And she showed her hoohaws in The Emerald Forest a bunch.
