Although its long takes, stylized set pieces, and unusual editing techniques align it with art film movements of the 1960s, the Hong Kong drama Toh Sik (2004) also boasts bold S&M scenes that wouldn’t be out of place at a local grindhouse theatre. Teresa Cheung stars as a property agent whose heart beats faster during a series of mysterious encounters.
