One porn film is too many, a thousand not enough; so Nicolas Cage learns in 8MM (1999). He plays a private investigator hired to track down the authenticity of a snuff loop. This dick’s beat is to beat off, as the deeper undercover he goes, the deeper he falls into perversion. He watches heavy bondage flicks, like the one where Jacklyn Lick is strung up topless by a leather-hooded creep--and Cage starts licking his chops. Before you can say “Fluffer,” he’s watching Emily Patrick add the skin at a porno shoot. And if that doesn’t have audiences shooting off then nothing will.
