The Father Almighty has a tough load to carry. Is it so hard to believe that eventually the All Powerful Creator might tire of shouldering the cares of the universe and long to take a little rest? To the credit of Providence, rather than simply toss the whole ball of iniquity into the vacuum of oblivion, He picks a remote South American outpost and spirits away, hoping to locate a local saint to tend the universe’s tiller while the Divine Originator takes some time off on vacation. The saint proves to be, if not illusory, at least frustratingly elusive, but the quaint charm and clever morality of the villagers in this tropical paradise do present a comforting case that God Is Brazilian (2003).
