Frustrated by his inability to find meaningful work in Hollywood, a starving actor begrudgingly returns to his Polish hometown in Pulapka (1997). Directed by Adek Drabinski, the film--also titled The Trap--finds its protagonist, Maciek (Marek Kondrat), quickly plunged into a noir-ish mystery reminiscent of the pulp movies he tried so desperately to get a part in. Of course, all film buffs know that you can’t have a noir without a femme fatale, and co-star Joanna Benda tackles that part with verve, showing off her front and fanny in a bedroom strut to rival any.
