A rogue mayor refuses to bend to strong-arm tactics in the fiery Mexican thriller El Alcalde y la política (1982). Tomás Sierra (Manolo Codeso) is the longstanding mayor of a small town that straddles two provinces. When a political cabal tries to shove him out in order to gain control of the powerful precinct, the hot-tempered politician chafes at the pressure. Taking on a powerful political machine is hard work, however, which is why Sierra kicks back with beautiful Violeta Cela.
