A ravenous band of soldiers formulates a cockamamie scheme to steal a bull and butcher it for food in the outlandish Mexican war comedy La Vaquilla (1985). Determined to capture the bull and make a clean getaway, the troops from the Republican army disguise themselves as Nationalists and try to abscond with the walking hamburger. Instead they get tangled up in a religious procession, and then a bullfight--ending the day more hungry than they started it. All’s not completely for naught, however--one soldier does put himself in the right place to catch Violeta Cela in her birthday suit.
