Brat Pack alum Ally Sheedy makes a comeback of sorts in the Roger Corman-produced B-thriller Macon County Jail (1997). Sheedy plays an incarcerated woman who plans her escape from the Southern prison referred to in the film’s title––a backwater gulag run by a maniacal warden and his sex-crazed son. David Carradine lends the flick some pulp power in his role as the hardened convict who agrees to aid Sheedy in her dangerous quest. Loosely based on Corman’s own Jackson County Jail (1976), the drive-in feature boasts Dixie-fried flavor and priceless skin shots from its famous starlet.
