Love isn't so much a battlefield as it is a washing machine loaded with marbles. Each of the shiny caroming spheres represents the affectionate aspirations of one would-be lover. If the character trajectories of the young lusters in Don't Do It (1994) are any indication, our hearts are tossed about in Cupid's cosmic spin-cycle until luck or fate decrees that we collide with our perfect match. Then we soak in the warm sea of requited romance and are happy ever after . . . or at least until the sexual centrifugal force seizes us once more and sends us tumbling into the clattering mix again, destined sooner or later to be put through the wringer.
