The epochal teen comedy Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) features Matthew Broderick as titular teenage smartass Ferris Bueller. The entirety of the film takes place on one day when Ferris decides to fake illness and play hooky with his best friend, Cameron (Alan Ruck), and his girlfriend, Sloane (Mia Sara). As his principal, Ed Rooney (Jeffrey Jones), and his bitchy sister, Jeanie (Jennifer Grey), try unsuccessfully to catch the truant in the act, Ferris borrows a classic Ferrari, goes to a Cubs game, and lip synchs “Twist and Shout” in a parade going through downtown Chicago on a weekday afternoon. Also in the cast are Charlie Sheen, Kristy Swanson, and Ben Stein as a droning economics teacher. There’s no nudity, but we do get to see Mia Sara in a clingy wet negligee when she goes swimming in a pool. If only Mia had used this day off to take her top off!
