La Regenta is a Spanish mini-series sporting the maxi-mams of Italian sausage-pleaser Aitana Sánchez-Gijón. Aitana can’t get a break in this nineteenth-century love story. She’s married to an old coot who doesn’t know or care how to please her young thing. That sends her off into the arms of two suitors, who in this allegorical story stand for more than mere love studs, but they don’t treat her much better. When she finally does it with one, he kills her husband in a duel. Afterwards Aitana finds herself lonely and, again, unloved. Poor girl. With Aitana’s many nude scenes, Mr. Skin would bet there’s a legion of loyal skin watchers that would gladly float her Spanish galleons.
