As the original midnight movie, the campy sci-fi musical comedy The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) has delighted its loyal audience of proto-glam weirdoes with the tale of white-bread couple Brad and Janet’s (Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon) momentous night in the castle of Transylvanian drag queen/mad scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry). Rocky Horror is most well known for the ritualized audience participation that has accompanied its screenings over the past thirty years and for its legendary soundtrack, which features high-concept rocker Meatloaf. You won’t want to throw anything at the screen when Nell Campbell graciously allows her nipple to poke out of her shirt when she’s clowning with Patricia Quinn.
