Closely modeled after the real-life Patty Hearst kidnapping, the taut political thriller Abduction (1975) stars Judith-Marie Bergan as a wealthy heiress who’s kidnapped by a gang of leftist radicals. The Marxist guerillas hope to convince Patty’s real-estate-mogul father to blow up a ritzy high rise he’s constructed, but they’re equally interested in treating the spoiled heroine to a wealth of abuses. Raped by her attackers and abused by a clutch of insatiable lesbians, poor Patty becomes a victim of Stockholm Syndrome on top of everything else. Director Joseph Zito captures every exquisite detail of the girl’s trial in this unabashedly exploitative B-flick.
