For all its lack of future prospects and fulfilling nightlife, a post-apocalyptic city of the dead would seem to at least offer its citizens the prospect of enjoying the remainder of eternity free from any major upheavals. Imagine the disappointment of a repose-craving corpse who moves into the necropolis at the center of Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004). Not only are the dearly expired of Resident Evil forced to deal with reanimating viruses and involuntary resurrection through engineered mutations, but the infernal meddling of a vast and diabolically crafty corporation has marginalized them, demonized them, and made them the target of a scientifically assembled über-ghoul who robs life after death of all its coming attractions.
