Set in 1960s-era Mexico City, Novia Que Te Vea (1994) tells the story of two young Mexican Jews as they grapple with the normal teenage issues of family angst and love, as well as coming to terms with their own Jewish identities. The film is highlighted by delicate performances all around as well as incisive looks at Mexican mores and customs. Maya Mishalska gives us a brief but utterly beautiful peek at the nipplage.
