After the unexpected death of her father in Broken Wings (2002), seventeen-year-old Maya (Maya Maron) gives up her dreams of becoming a singer to take care of her family. With mom perpetually in bed and her twin brother dropping out of school, Maya must learn to grow up as quickly as her body is growing out.
