In most cases, a male in his sexual prime facing the prospect of viewing a film with a one-hundred-year-old female lead would conclude that his powerful erotic urges will be given the night off, but not if that one-hundred-year-old broad is the well-preserved title blood- and coochie-sucker of The Vampire Carmilla (1999). The undying life of a daughter of darkness is, in reality, a messy and arduous existence. The only way new recruits are lured into the night-roaming sorority is through a sex appeal so intoxicating and powerful that it makes a dead man wish he had at least one vein left with a pulse worthy of being milked dry by the full-lipped, glittery-fanged mouth of eternal hunger.
