Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt play Catholic school students with a passion for dancing in the breezy, winsome comedy Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1985). When the girls catch wind of a televised dance competition they resolve to improve their moves until they’ve got the goods to compete. Because Parker’s conservative father doesn’t want his daughter competing, however, the girls are forced to keep their ambitions under wraps, even as they practice feverishly for the limelight. Parker’s her typical, modest self in this PG confection, but she does don a tank top and panties in one memorable scene.
