La fille de l'autre or The Daughter of the Other follows Judith (Anne Parillaud), a woman who recently miscarried, as she attempts to steal the spawn of a young mother named Emilie (Virginia Lavalou). Director Harry Cleven plays off the plot's absurdist action in order to create a charming dynamic between two women who are very much at odds. Their conflict escalates until Judith is imprisoned for kidnapping (talk about jailbait), but no bars can contain this woman on a mission. Despite her illegal and immoral behavior, Judith's character is so likable that the audience will find themselves struggling who to side with. Even more likable is the fact that Parillaud delivers by stripping down in between baby snatching in La fille de l'autre.
