While other B-movie mavens were capitalizing on the stop-the-meteor motif of Deep Impact (1998) and Armageddon (1998), director David DeCoteau figured it would be more fun to just wipe out the planet. The Journey: Absolution (1997) picks up several years after this destruction, as kickboxing grunt Mario Lopez goes to the Arctic to find a missing old friend. This pits him against Richard Grieco as the nutty camp commandant who’s putting together his own post-apocalyptic army. That comet must’ve warmed up the Arctic a lot, since the muscular male cast spends a lot of time in their underwear. Your own whities will get tighty thanks to the unveiling of Jaime Pressly’s warm form, plus a heartwarming display from hottie Hollie L. Hummel.
