After years of being mentored and coddled by her older lover, Anna (Ornella Muti) feels the rug pulled out from under her when the man abruptly abandons her in Codice privato (1988). Left to her own devices, the hyper-educated young woman adjusts poorly to a life of isolation. Anna’s man is a Nobel Prize winner, so he must be pretty smart, but it’s hard to justify walking out on a dish this hot. Muti is radiantly beautiful for the entire ninety-minute duration of this spicy Italian drama, which includes a brief but unforgettable skin shot.
