A muckraking reporter dons her other cap––that of Special Forces commando––to snuff out a child pornography ring in the blustery action thriller Streets of Rage (1994). Mimi Lesseos gets to show off her acting chops and her martial arts acumen in her role as Melody Sails, a highly trained military specialist who returns to civilian life to write copy for an L.A. paper. When Sails gets wind of a sinister kiddie sex operation, however, she drops her notebook and picks up a pistol to commence with ass kicking. A hell of a lot more pleasant on the eyes than, say, Chuck Norris, Lesseos also shows she doesn’t need a roadmap around the bedroom as she shimmies around sans robe.
