Danish provocateur Lars von Trier treats his directorial hero to a mind-bending challenge in the meta-filmic masterpiece The Five Obstructions (2003). More than thirty years prior to the filming of von Trier’s clever experiment, director Jørgen Leth helmed The Perfect Human (1967), a documentary-style look at life in Denmark. An admirer of the film, von Trier decides to ask Leth to remake it five times--each under a different set of guidelines. Best of all, Leth uses one of the five opportunities to explore his kinkier sensibilities by capturing the luscious Jacqueline Arenal in a tender and revealing moment.
