The fright flick Cellar Dweller (1988) tells the story of Colin Childress (Jeffrey Combs), a comic-book illustrator in the 1950s whose use of an ancient book of black magic causes his monstrous comic-book creations to come to life and destroy him. Years later, Whitney Taylor (Debrah Farentino), another cartoonist and fan of Childress’s work, discovers the book and accidentally brings back to life the creatures that destroyed their original creator.
