Directed by Steven Soderbergh, The Underneath (1995) isn't as provocative as his breakthrough debut Sex, Lies and Videotape (1989), but then this actually has nudity in it, proving that titles can be misleading. The underneath exposed here is the round, firm rear end of Elisabeth Shue, in a supporting role as a bank teller. Her only real purpose in this noir about a gambler that is told mostly in flashback is to flash her backside. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It fact, it's rather cheeky.
