Review
It’s the sixteenth century and poor girl Catherine McCormack is considered simply unfit to marry her rich lover Rufus Sewell in Dangerous Beauty (1998). Fortunately, her mom, Jacqueline Bissett, has a good suggestion for an alternative career. She begins training Catherine to become a high-class hooker--or, as they were called at the time, a courtesan. Catherine’s a real success, too, and ends up as a major political figure. Kind of a Kissinger with a quim, if you will. But then things go downhill when she gets blamed for the plague. There’s no plague on this film’s fillies, though. McCormack and Bissett are impressive enough, but your dick will also be endangered by the period outfits of Naomi Watts, Moira Kelly, and Joanna Cassidy.
