Set during WWII, Le Petiti matin (1971) revolves around an old mansion in the countryside of France and what happens when it is taken over by German officers during the occupation. Nina, the daughter of the house, is in love with her cousin, who is gay and ultimately becomes involved with one of the German officers. This is a traumatic story set amid the horror of war. Catherine Jourdan excels as Nina, particularly when she rolls around in the water stark naked.
