"Starring Ann-Margret as 'Lady Booby.'" After an opening credit like that, do you really need to know anything else about the rollicking, bodice-ripping, 18th-century-set coming-of-age comedy Joseph Andrews? Actually, you do. Because as sumptuous as eternal eyeful Ann-Margret is in her cleavage-pumping finery and an unforgettably wet-and-clingy bathing gown, she is but one of a plethora of plush period pieces that our titular hero (Peter Firth) stumbles (and fondles) his way across en route to manhood. Maggie Wright puts the leer of God into him as a nun with a penchant for see-through vestments and Natalie Ogle more than lives up to her saucy surname by repeatedly baring her delightfully demure chest ornaments throughout the bawdy comings-and-goings (and especially the comings!).
