In the eye-popping drama La Mirada del otro (1998), a tech-obsessed young woman lets her depraved instincts get the best of her. Laura Morante stars as Begoña, a well-to-do consultant with a kinky behavioral side. When she’s introduced to a tiny portable camera called “The Owl”, Begoña begins delighting in capturing her trysts on tape. She’s so intoxicated by the device’s possibilities that she even allows herself to be gang raped in order to get it on tape. Morante’s performance is alluringly brave, and her nude scenes range from modest dressing to graphic encounters. Ana Obregón also shows up to lend support in a much tamer tit reveal.
