In Desperately Seeking Susan (1985), bored and horny housewife Roberta (Rosanna Arquette) fills her dull days following the love life of Susan (Madonna), a mystery woman who frequently contacts her boyfriend via the personals. Seeing that the enigmatic pair is set to have a coupling in New York, Roberta travels to the city to watch. Entranced by the sultry sex kitten that is Susan, she buys an old coat that the downtown diva donated to a resale shop and begins to assume her identity. When the funky cloak transforms Roberta from hausfrau to fierce fox, the deranged killer who so desperately seeks Susan is hard-pressed to believe that she is simply a suburban wife.
