Cops are always complaining that their job is tough and thankless. Imagine the frustration of sheriff Chuck Norris as the small-town lawman in Silent Rage (1982). First he does the dirty work that comes with the territory. He pokes around at a gruesome murder scene, fends off a vicious, desperate attack from the suspect, subdues and arrests the maniac, and then goes the extra mile and kills him when he improbably escapes. Do the townsfolk appreciate Norris’s efforts? Maybe some of them do, but not the three brilliant but misguided doctors who combine their talents to resurrect the dead killer and refashion him as a self-healing, rampaging mute. When their creation gets out of control, guess who they call to clean up the mess.
