Heroin can be blamed for many tragedies among the artistic community, but the drug is also the inspiration behind Shameless (1995). A thriller/romance/murder noir from first-time writer/director Henry Cole, this dark and probing look at the dangers and degradations that go hand in hand with a simple love for narcotics is a tough shot of downward-spiraling drama.
