A teenage surfer girl turns to Christianity after a life-changing accident in Soul Surfer (2011). Bethany Hamilton (AnnaSophia Robb) lives with her parents Tom (Dennis Quaid) and Cheri (Helen Hunt) in Hawaii. Bethany seems to have the perfect life: she surfs every day, wins every contest she enters, and even has prospects for a sponsorship- all this at age 13. But one day, as Bethany dangles her arm in the water between waves, a shark suddenly attacks her and bites it off at the shoulder. Buoyed by her faith, Bethany finds the strength to return to surfing in this inspirational story.
