Review

The university-set comedy/drama Love 101 brings fresh dimension to the concept of “higher learning.” This indie production documents the comings-and-goings of affable collegiates as they knowledge that can only be taught outside the classroom—and, more specifically, inside the bedroom. Don’t take that as an indicator that Love 101 is a simple-minded sex farce, however. Laughs abound, but they arise naturally from writer-director Adrian Fulle’s believable characters in recognizable situations. After a campus ladies’ man (Michael Muhney) hooks up with a female student (Mary Kay Cook) who has long been an object of affection of his roommate (Jon Collins), realistic life lessons ensue in rich, memorable, entertaining fashion. Love 101 is a course well worth taking.
