Not a new McDonald's menu item, McVicar (1980) is the name of the public enemy protagonist in Tom Clegg’s fast-moving British crime drama. The Who founder Roger Daltrey tackles the role of real-life bank robber Tom McVicar, a feared crook who terrorizes London with a formidable arsenal of weapons. When he’s finally nabbed, McVicar’s put behind bars at a maximum-security prison, but there’s no guarantee that the most formidable fortress in Britain can hold him. Clegg’s film may seem like a mere tough-guy showcase, but the babes are given a few moments in the limelight. Georgina Hale and Cheryl Campbell cavort through scenes that have them showing off the best of what Britain’s got to offer.
