Crime makes for estranged bedfellows, especially when a boyfriend-girlfriend team of killer jewel thieves, such as the less-than-romantic leads of Cold Around the Heart (1998), botch a job and the lawless chick kicks the felonious dude from the getaway car. Mr. Call Me Convict lands in the lap of the law and is soon locked away, facing time for a triple homicide. The story should end there, but lax jailhouse security allows the criminal couple's male half to escape from custody and embark upon a cross-country odyssey with the intention of killing his former partner in infamy.
