Kiefer Sutherland and Emily Lloyd star in the gritty true crime film Chicago Joe and the Showgirl (1990), a Bonnie and Clyde (1967) style psycho-noir transplanted from the Depression-era heartland to WWII-era London. American soldier Karl Hulten (Sutherland) and his giddy ladyfriend (Lloyd) embark on an impromptu spree of petty thievery. As the wannabe gangster and his aspiring moll grow bolder, however, they decide to try their hands at murder. Lloyd steals the show as the female half of the criminal tandem--a histrionic, pop-culture-fed burlesque dancer who manages to remain ravishing while brandishing a pistol.
