A troubled young French schoolteacher decides to take a week's vacation in Lyon to clear her head and connect with her parents in Bertrand Tavernier’s highly acclaimed film Une Semaine de vacances (1980). This is a rich and psychologically complex examination of human emotions and family life. Nathalie Baye is terrific in the lead role, especially when she is giving us quick flashes of her petite pineapples.
