Singer k.d. lang stars in Salmonberries (1991), and she goes all out for the role. Playing a woman who grew up in a small Alaskan town, she goes to the library to discover who her parents are. See, she was abandoned there as an infant. Guess her folks didn't realize what a windfall financially their little igloo would grow up to be. When the librarian isn't helpful, k.d. ducks behind a bookcase and returns fully nude! Certainly a scene worth bookmarking, though the pages may end up sticking together. k.d.'s famous lungs are full, but it's the sheet music between her legs that's the real eye-opener. The librarian, a refugee from behind the Iron Curtain, and k.d. end up on a dual identity search in what is beyond a doubt the best lesbian Eskimo movie ever made.
