What is it about the starched-white uniform and caring nature of a nurse that makes a patient pant? Maybe it’s the chance to see a Florence Nightingale in her nightgown. Whatever the reason, the nurse genre has proved good fodder for sexploitation, and Roger Corman could crank them out almost as fast as viewers could crank out their sticky approval. His The Young Nurses (1973) has everything a body needs for its sexual good health: Jeane Manson and Ashley Porter reveal their untrimmed ’70s bushes and Kimberly Hyde and Terrill Maguire round out the T&A. Even Sally Kirkland gets into the mix in a transparent bra. These young nurses go head-to-head with big issues of the day like abortion, but the film really sizzles when they’re just giving head.
