In Joe D’Amato’s bawdy but literate comedy Novelle licenziose di vergini vogliose (1973), the great Italian writer Giovanni Boccaccio (Stefano Oppedisano) snoozes while composing his Decameron, only to awaken in the flaming pits of Hell. The jovial British poet Geoffrey Chaucer (Paolo Casella) takes Boccaccio on a walk through the underworld and warns him of the fate that awaits the teller of lusty tales. Along the way, the tortured writer is tempted by the supple breasts of feisty Mediterranean bombshell Gabriella Giorgelli, whose sex scenes are sinful and skin-full.
